Our Scarlet Linen Throw is handmade from 100% medium-weight linen in a rich, saturated red. The irregular surface of the cloth softens the color, catching light differently across the weave so that Scarlet never feels flat or overly perfect. It is bold, certainly, but linen gives it age, texture and ease.

Historically, household linens were made to remain in a family for years. They were washed, used, softened, mended and used again. The best pieces weren't kept pristine in anticipation of some more important occasion. They became valuable because they accumulated a life.

That's the kind of linen we love.

At 90" long and 50" wide, this is a generously proportioned throw with enough fabric to make a real presence in a room. Stretch it across the foot of a bed, drape it over a sofa, spread it across a table for dinner, wrap yourself in it on a cold evening, or take it outside when the gathering moves into the garden.

Each throw is individually handmade and pre-washed, giving the linen a relaxed hand from the beginning. The natural weave and subtle irregularities of the cloth remain visible, while the edges are frayed by hand rather than given a formal finished hem.

Scarlet doesn't need much assistance.

Against white, it is spectacular. Against old wood, it feels almost inevitable. Put it with black, stone, faded upholstery, modern furniture or a room that has absolutely no red in it at all.
