Handmade Linen Throw - Periwinkle
There was a time when a good piece of linen was something you kept.
Household linens were washed, mended, softened through years of use and passed from one generation to another. They weren't precious because they were delicate. Quite the opposite. They became precious because they lasted long enough to acquire a history.
We like that idea.
Our Periwinkle Linen Throw is handmade from 100% medium-weight linen, generously cut at 90" long × 50" wide, pre-washed for softness and finished with edges that are frayed by hand.
Periwinkle is one of those colors that refuses to sit perfectly still. In bright natural light, the linen moves toward a dusty cornflower blue. In softer light and shadow, its violet undertones become more apparent. The natural variations in linen's weave make the color even more interesting, changing subtly as the cloth folds, wrinkles and catches the light.
And there is a lot of it here.
At seven and a half feet long, this isn't a little decorative throw destined to spend its life folded over the corner of a chair. Spread it across a bed. Let it tumble down the back of a sofa. Use it as an informal table linen. Wrap it around your shoulders on a cool evening. Take it outside. Leave it rumpled where you last used it.
The linen has been pre-washed, so it arrives already relaxed rather than stiff and formal. From there, it gets better. Linen softens with washing and use, gradually becoming more familiar without losing the character of the cloth.
The hand-frayed edges are intentionally simple. No added fringe, no decorative trim. Just the linen itself, worked by hand and allowed to come apart beautifully at the edges.
This is linen meant to be lived with.
Fold it. Drape it. Rumple it. Wash it. Use it.
And perhaps, eventually, let somebody else inherit it.

Because each throw is handmade from natural linen, subtle variations in weave, texture, dimensions and hand-fraying are expected. They are part of the character of each piece.
