Before linen was dyed, embroidered, monogrammed or folded into immaculate cupboards, it began as a plant growing in a field.

There is something about Oatmeal that still feels connected to that beginning.

Our Oatmeal Linen Throw is handmade from 100% medium-weight linen in a warm, wonderfully ambiguous neutral. It isn't quite cream, beige or taupe. Like the natural fibers from which linen is made, the color shifts gently with its surroundings and with the light.

It is the sort of color people have lived with for centuries.

Long before household textiles became something we replaced with the seasons, linen was an investment. Sheets, table linens and other domestic cloths were washed, mended, softened through years of use and sometimes passed from one generation to another. A well-stocked linen cupboard represented something substantial: a household prepared for everyday life, unexpected guests, celebrations and all the ordinary days in between.

That history is part of what makes linen so appealing to us now. It was never supposed to remain untouched.

At 90" long and 50" wide, our throw is generously proportioned for exactly that kind of living. Drape it across a bed or the back of a sofa. Spread it over a table. Wrap yourself in it on a cool morning. Carry it outside for dinner. Leave it rumpled in the place where everyone naturally reaches for it.

Each throw is individually handmade and pre-washed, giving the linen a relaxed hand from the beginning. The weave and subtle irregularities of the natural cloth remain visible, and the edges are frayed by hand rather than formally hemmed.

Oatmeal may be the quietest color in the collection, but that is precisely its strength.

It belongs almost anywhere: old wood, pale plaster, leather, stone, white bedding, modern architecture, rooms filled with color. It doesn't ask everything around it to cooperate.

It simply settles in.
